Matthew Rowe conducts West Side Story

A cast of over 50 young singers and musicians were selected to participate in the production. They trained and rehearsed for over six months with mentors and coaches and were led by an artistic team of top professionals: Director, Javier Lopez Pinon, Choreographer, Honey Eavis, Sven Arne Tepl of the Amsterdam Conservatory, and Conductor, Matthew Rowe.
The project attracted tremendous media attention and was a dazzling success with a series of sold out and highly acclaimed performances – a true highlight of the Royal Concertgebouw’s 125th anniversary.

The project was produced by the Education Department of the Concertgebouw (directed by Anya van Keulen) in partnership with the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, and sponsored by Deutsche Bank.
